FAQ

Before contacting, please check out some of the frequently asked questions below.
These questions mainly apply for blog & web design projects. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me!

[expand title=”How Do I Get Started?”]Once you are ready to begin, please contact me to tell me a little more about your project. You can expect a response to your inquiry within 5 business days. At this time, I will provide you with a questionnaire to learn more about your vision. Once you fill that out, I will send over a detailed proposal for you to review before booking the project.[/expand]

[expand title=”How Does the Design Process Work?”]Once your deposit is made, the fun begins! I will send you a detailed schedule, agreement, and client questionnaire to get a feel for what you are looking for in your design. Once returned, your project will begin on the start date I provide you. You can typically expect a proof of your design 10-14 days after your specified start date. Once a proof is reviewed by you, we can go back and forth making revisions. The first round of revisions is dedicated to larger conceptual changes, while the other two are dedicated to smaller cosmetic changes. Although it is a highly rare occurrence, additional rounds of revisions are available at my hourly rate. Once all design elements are approved, I will schedule an installation date to install your new design. A detailed project schedule will be agreed upon before starting, so that you know exactly what to expect throughout the process. After approval of the design, any changes to the design will be billed at my hourly rate. [/expand]

[expand title=”Will My Project Begin Immediately?”]In most cases, I am unable to start on your project immediately due to current projects. Please contact me for availability & I will let you know my next available start date. Current turnaround time for most web/blog projects is roughly 4-6 weeks from the time your project begins. However, this timeframe can vary depending on current projects. Contact me and I will be happy to let you know when I would be able to begin your project! [/expand]

[expand title=”Do I Need To Be Available during the design process?”]It is very important that you are available by email during the process. Your detailed project schedule will state when you can expect proofs, as well as exact dates for when you are expected to provide feedback. If you have prior engagements that will cause you to be unavailable during the project, please let me know ahead of time and we can adjust the timeline as needed. [/expand]

[expand title=”Can You Move My Blog from Blogger to WordPress?”] I personally do not offer migration services. However, I can provide referrals for this service. Before ordering, please ensure that your website & domain is up and running on the platform you intend your custom design to be installed to. [/expand]

[expand title=”I am not familiar with using Blogger or WordPress – Can you teach me?”] After the support grace period included with your package is up, I am happy to schedule a chat session to answer additional questions at my consultation rate of $75/hour (billed at one hour minimum). The support grace period for your package will be stated on your client agreement form. In this case, please come to the chat session with a list of questions typed out in order to get the most out of our time together. Unfortunately, there are not enough hours in the day for me to teach each client how to use their blogging software. It is the client’s responsibility to be (or become) familiar with the Blogger or WordPress platforms upon purchasing a custom design. [/expand]

[expand title=”What’s the difference between a Header and a Logo?”] Your custom blog design will come with a custom header, but not a Custom Logo. These are easily confused, but are in fact different items. Let me explain.

Custom Logo (Packages available from $1200-$2500): When you are ordering a custom logo, you are receiving extensive brand development (brainstorming, research, conceptualization) strictly for your logo mark. Your logo will be created in high-resolution vector format, which will allow you to resize your logo to any size without pixelation. You will own the rights to the logo, and are free to use it for other branding purposes. A custom logo is a necessary investment for any business or blogger looking to establish a viable and extensive brand.

Custom Header: When you purchase a custom blog design, you will receive a typographic header graphic for use strictly on your blog. This file is created at web resolution, and the package does not include the design files needed to continue your new brand outside of your blog. Your header will be designed with the rest of your blog design, meaning, you will only have 3 rounds of revisions allowed for the entire blog design (with no special attention to the header). As the designer, I will retain all rights to the design and use of graphics outside of your website is prohibited without permission. You may purchase the rights to your header graphic for a set $200 release fee, which includes a high-res .JPG file of your header. Vector files can be purchased for an additional fee. Please contact me directly to discuss.[/expand]

[expand title=”Do you offer design critiques or consultations?”] If you are unsure of what you need or would just like to talk more in depth about your project before ordering, I am happy to schedule a consultation to chat about the services you need. My consultation rate is $100 hour, billed at one hour minimum. I also provide blog or website critiques as part of my consultation services. I will spend two hours critiquing your website and provide a one page document of suggestions & ideas that you can consider implementing on your site. The Critique Package is $200. Critiques do not include design services.

Please note that while I am more than happy to answer questions about the design process through email, I will not begin conceptualizing or brainstorming ideas for your project until the deposit has been made & your spot is secured.[/expand]

[expand title=”How Does Payment Work?”] Once you have contacted me and a quote is determined & accepted, your spot will be secured after a non-refundable 50% deposit of your project is made. I will provide you with a payment schedule in your proposal so you know when to expect invoices (larger projects can be broken down into 3 payments). Paypal is the primary form of payment accepted (you do not need a Paypal account to pay through Paypal). [/expand]

[expand title=”Do You Have A List of Testmonials?”] Sure do! You can find a list of experiences from past clients here. [/expand]
